Tooty Counteracts His "Suicidal Thoughts"

[embed]https://soundcloud.com/tooty-4/sets/suicidal-thoughts[/embed]"Therapy didn’t work. Music did." is the mantra of 25-year-old Chicago hip-hop artist Tooty. Following his first mixtape First Degree Murder, Tooty has followed with Suicidal Thoughts. A provoking title indeed --  this project is fixated on pondering suicide. His dreary but motivating tape begins with "Underground Railroad", a track with subliminal messages of optimism and guidance. Trapo contributes a strong delivery and emotional depth. It also samples Ab-Soul's "A Rebellion".  "Dysphoria" examines the poverty lurking within Chicago via vivid candor.Tooty allows listeners to explore his dark mind in "Runaway Slave", where he remains upfront and personal. "Stepping Stone" exemplifies Tooty's drive to implement change. The project takes an aspiring emotional shift for "Mile Before Perfect". Fellow Windy City rapper XVRHLDY creeps into your mind; acting as if he's the voice lurking in the back of your head. "All I Think About" dives deeper into his thoughts,Suicidal Thoughts is a project full of deep introspection and versatile flow. Tooty cleverly weaves in aspects of slavery and politics, forcing listeners to find subliminal messages. Samples from Ab-Soul, John Legend and Aaliyah are reinvented. Trapo & XVRHLDY each respectively deliver a reflective darkness. This project evokes lots of emotion, yet still remains to be inspiring.
